Employment Opportunities at the Center

If you are interested in becoming a tutor at the Writing Center, please:

1) Fill out the online SDSU Writing Center Tutor Application form.  

2) Submit to our director, Dr. Dustin Edwards ([email protected]), the following:

• a one-page letter of interest
• a resume
• an academic writing sample, approximately 5-10 pages

You are welcome to submit materials at any time. We typically hire new tutors prior to the beginning of the fall semester (and review applications in the previous spring or summer). Occasionally, we also hire tutors mid-semester or prior to the spring semester. Please email Dr. Edwards if you have questions about hiring periods.

Please note that only matriculated SDSU students are eligible to work as tutors.

Once your materials are submitted, you will be contacted by the director and/or assistant director, typically within two weeks.
